Drink water.
She's watching.
A hydration tracker with an attitude problem. Go too long without drinking and Karen puts your social apps on hold — until you log some water.
Free. No account. No ads. Coming soon to iPhone.

You know you should drink more.
You just don't.
Every water app sends reminders. You swipe them away. Your phone always wins.
Reminders are easy to ignore
A banner, a buzz, a swipe. Gone. Nothing happens if you don't drink.
Hours disappear into feeds
You open TikTok “for a minute”. It's 4pm. Your bottle is still full.
Tracking feels like homework
Log, log, log. By day three, nobody is logging anything.
What if skipping water actually cost you something?
Your feeds, held hostage.
Pick your social apps. Two hours without water and Karen locks them. Log a drink and they're back instantly. Hit your daily goal and they're yours for the rest of the day.
Regular water apps
- Polite reminders you can swipe away
- Same notification, every day
- Nothing happens if you ignore them
WaterKaren
- Your social apps lock until you drink
- Fresh, rude lines every single day
- One glass and everything unlocks
Why it actually works
It's not willpower. It's a trade. Scroll time costs a glass of water.
Loss aversion
We hate losing something more than we like gaining it.
Losing your feeds hurts more than any reminder.
Instant reward
Behaviour sticks when the payoff is immediate.
Log a glass, apps unlock that second.
A commitment device
Decide once, while you're motivated. Let the rule do the rest.
You pick the apps. Karen holds you to it.
Novelty
The same alert every day becomes invisible.
Karen never repeats a line in the same day.
Start in 3 taps
No sign-up. No setup marathon.
Set your quota
A daily goal based on you, plus your wake-up time. Nothing locks before you're up.
Pick the hostages
Choose the apps Karen can lock. Instagram, TikTok, X — your call. Optional.
Drink. Log. Unlock.
Tap to log a glass — or right from the notification. Apps come back instantly.
Pick how much Karen you can take
Three intensities. Change it anytime in Prefs. (Karen only speaks English. For now.)
Passive
3 check-ins a day. Short and polite.
Standard
5 check-ins a day. Dry and sarcastic.
Full Karen
7 check-ins a day. No filter.

Everything else, minus the nonsense
- One tap to logWater, tea, juice, coffee — each counted for what it's worth. Coffee: zero. Karen's rules.
- StreaksBuild one. Every 7 days earns a freeze for the day you forget.
- HistoryYour week, color-coded and unflattering.
- Apple HealthYour water goes to Health, if you allow it.
- Private by designNo account, no ads, no tracking. Everything stays on your phone.
- FreeThe whole thing. No subscription.
Questions?

How do I get my apps back?
Drink some water and log it. In the app, hold the log button for 5 seconds — or tap “Log 250ml” / “Log 500ml” on any WaterKaren notification. The apps unlock right away.
When does the lock kick in?
After 2 hours without logging a drink, counted from your wake-up time. Nothing locks overnight, and nothing locks once you've hit today's goal.
Do I have to use the app lock?
No. It's optional. Skip it and WaterKaren is a (rude) water tracker with reminders, streaks and history.
Can Karen see which apps I use?
No. The lock uses Apple's Screen Time. iOS gives WaterKaren anonymous tokens, not app names or your usage. Nothing leaves your phone.
Is it really free?
Yes. No subscription, no ads, no in-app purchases.
Why doesn't coffee count?
Karen's rules. Water counts fully, tea 80%, juice 50%, coffee 0%.
